Bruno, O’Connor, and Piercy named September students of the month

Joliet Catholic Academy is pleased to announce its September Students of the Month: Frank Bruno, Rotary Club of Joliet; Claire O’Connor, Joliet Noon Lions; Erin Piercy, Kiwanis Club of Joliet.

Frank Bruno is the son of Michael and Mary Lynn, carrying a weighted grade point average of 4.07. Bruno lists history as his favorite subject and plans to major in political science. He plans to go into government service.

Frank is a Student Ambassador, member of the Respect Life Club, Latin Club, and on staff with the Victory View campus newspaper. Frank is also in the National Honor Society, is a Kazma Scholar, a Quigley Scholar, a Carmelite/Franciscan Scholar, and recipient of the Latin II & Latin III Award.

Claire O’Connor is the daughter of Joseph and Beatrice. She has a weighted GPA of 4.57. Claire is a member of academic societies Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish National Honors Society and is on the honor roll. She is a standout athlete on the varsity golf team and this is her 4th year on the team. She also played softball for three years and basketball for two.

Claire is also on the Math team and Scholastic Bowl and active in the St. Raymond Youth Ministry. For college, she plans to attend Brown University or Boston College, majoring in Math, Economics or Finance. Claire hopes to one day become the CEO of a major company. About herself she says, “I’m an honest, hardworking individual, and I set my standards high.”

Erin Piercy is the daughter of Ann. She is ranked in the top 10 percentile of her class. She has been an officer for her class for all four years of her high school career and is currently the secretary of the Senior Class. Erin has been a Kairos Retreat Leader and has also attended the Rotary Leadership retreat. After graduation, she plans to attend college and pursue a career in business or law.
