NLI Signing Day

Jeff Budz, Principal of Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to announce that five of our student-athletes signed letters of intent on February 6th. The ceremony took place with parents, coaches, peers, and media in the Student Activity Center at JCA. Seniors Keith Craig, Cody Crater, Ty Isaac, Tyler Reitz, and Rachel Zampa have all made their commitment to a university to continue their respective sports at the collegiate level.

Cody Crater, son of Carl and Christine of Joliet, has committed to play football for South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, a school with unique majors in the field of geology and technology. Cody possesses a very unique skill set, that of a long snapper, which has scored Joliet Catholic Academy many extra points and field goals. He has earned a scholarship for his unique talents and will undoubtedly be a great asset to the team.

Keith Craig, son of Charles of Joliet, has committed to Quincy University where he will continue to play football. Keith boasts 65 total tackles, five interceptions and has been a two-year starter for JCA. Outside of football, Keith is also involved in the Varsity Club and plays Varsity Basketball. His skills and academic abilities excite Quincy University and they are happy to have him aboard.

Ty Isaac, son of Tyrone and Karen of Shorewood, will be headed to USC to continue his football career. Ty is an Under Armour All-American and holds JCA’s single season rushing record with 2,629 yards. He has accomplished some outstanding things during his time at JCA, and is the most recruited football player in JCA history. Outside of football, Ty is involved with the Exchange Club.

Tyler Reitz, son of James and Lori of Joliet, is headed to Siena Heights University to continue his football career. Averaging 11 yards a catch, Tyler is a standout running back. He’s rushed close to 1000 yards and has scored 13 touchdowns. A natural leader, he is the kind of captain a team can be built around. Though Tyler is a former baseball player, he loves his craft and will be a great asset to the Siena Heights Saints.

Rachel Zampa, daughter of Joseph and Kristina of Plainfield, will be taking her talents to Northwestern University to continue playing soccer. Rachel is an outstanding midfielder who is very versatile and can play almost any position. She was named to the Herald News All-Area Team and has also played soccer for Chicago area team Fire Jrs. Red. Rachel will be a great resource to the Wildcats.
