ALUMNA AMY KONCAR AWARDED AICS SCHOLARSHIP

Alumna Amy Koncar was recently named as this year’s recipient of the American Italian Cultural Society (AICS) Scholarship. Amy is a graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy’s Class of 2013. She was a remarkable student during her time at JCA, maintaining a spot on the “A” Honor Roll for all four years of her high school career while going through our challenging Honors curriculum.

koncarAmy also stood out as a leader – serving as the both Vice-President of Varsity Club and KEY Club. She was also a member of Student Council for four years. Amy was a member of several honor societies including the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta – as well as an Illinois State Scholar. Amy also volunteered her time for school events such as Step-Up Day and Open House. Outside of school, she found time to visit the elderly, work food drives, be a “buddy” for the Miracle League of Joliet, and serve as a Eucharistic Minister.

Amy is now away at college studying Speech and Language Pathology at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO. Joliet Catholic Academy would like to congratulate Amy on her scholarship and wish her continued success.
