Claire Stockl Math and Science teacher

Claire Stockl’s road to JCA began in 2001 when her oldest son, Bruce ’05, started his freshman year. Over the course of the next 13 years, she watched a dedicated faculty and staff transform her children into the bright, well-rounded men and woman they are today. Her experience as a parent had a huge influence on her decision to join the faculty. Mrs. Stockl has a bachelor’s in physics from Knox College and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She recently obtained her secondary teaching certificate in physics from Lewis University. Mrs. Stockl previously worked as an engineer designing nuclear power plants before staying home to raise her family. A few years ago, she went back to school with the sole purpose of becoming a JCA teacher. As she begins this new phase in her life, she looks forward to the opportunity to share her love of math and science with her students. Outside of school, she enjoys practicing yoga, gardening and watching sports. Most of all, she loves spending time with her husband of 30 years, Dan, and their children, Bruce ’05, Elise ’07, Darren ’12 and Seth ’14.
