Girls Basketball to play for Regional Championship

Joliet Catholic Academy’s Girls Basketball team took the court against Providence Catholic High School on Wednesday, Feb. 18 for the IHSA 3A New Lenox Regional semifinal game. The Angels defeated the Celtics 73-51.

Nicole Ekhomu recorded 26 points and 8 assists; Kaitlyn Williams, 16 points including 4 three-pointers; Andriana Acosta, 9 points; Mia Farrell, 6 points and 4 assists; Kennedy Weigt, 6 points; Ty Battle, 6 points; and Jnaya Walker, 4 points.

The Angels will return to Nex Lenox (Providence Catholic H.S.) on Friday, Feb. 20 for the Regional Championship. JCA will take the court against Lincoln-Way West at 7 p.m. and the winner will advance to Game 2 of the Coal City Sectional scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Juniors Mia Farrell and Kaitlyn Williams along with sophomore Kennedy Weigt and freshman Tsimba Malonga will compete in the 3-point contest prior to the Regional Championship game at 6 p.m.
