Prayers for the Sacrament of Reconciliation

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, come upon me; fill me with your presence. Give me a new heart to know you and a new tongue to praise you. Cleanse me, purify me, renew me, transform me. Give me Your joy and peace. Make me a witness of Christ.

Act of Contition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You. I detest all my sins because I dread the loos of heaven and the pains of hell. But more of all because they offentd You, My God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.
