Sister Albert Marie Papesh, OSF celebrates 60th Jubilee

Papesh Albert Marie 2015

Sister Albert Marie Papesh, the eldest daughter of the late Mary (Mayme) and Albert Papesh,  is celebrating her 60th Jubilee as a Sister of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate.

Sister Albert Marie attended St. Raymond School and graduated from St. Francis Academy (JCA) in 1953 . Sister Albert Marie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in music from the College of St. Francis and her Master Degree in Studies in Aging from North Texas University. Additionally, she took courses in elementary School Administration toward a Master of Education at DePaul University.

Sister Albert Marie has ministered as an educator, musician, administrator, and director of development.

When asked to give a special recollection of a past memory, she remarked, “A memory? Next to impossible, for I have been gifted with ever so many memories on this 60-year journey led by the God of surprises! There are memories of teaching elementary grade school children, meeting their parents, preparing choirs and music for school and parish functions, ministering through the joys and sorrows of the residents, their families and staff at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home (OLA) , and being grateful and humbled by the kindness and generosity of friends, families, and benefactors during my development office days. All of the above continue to come to mind and prayer as I now minister as a member of our Congregation’s St. Clare House of Prayer in Joliet. How blessed I’ve been and continue to be!”

Sister Albert Marie will be celebrating her anniversary with other Jubilarians of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate at the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet on June 13, 2015.
