Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to announce the November Students of the Month: Megan McNulty (Kiwanis Club), Anthony Costa (Lions Club), Faith Krumviede (Rotary Club), and Michaela Fossberg (Exchange Club).
Megan McNulty, the daughter of Ms. Caryn McNulty, was named the Kiwanis Club Student of the Month. Megan is a senior and a member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, National French Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (National Math Honor Society). She is currently applying and deciding between New York University, Stanford University, and the University of Southern California. She plans on double majoring in Anthropology and Dance. Her dream job is to study dancers from an anthropological perspective, figuring out why and how dance cultures differ in separate parts of the world.
Anthony Costa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Costa, was named the Lions Club Student of the Month. Anthony’s favorite subjects are Math and Economics, and he currently boasts a 3.64 G.P.A on a 5.0 scale. He is a senior at JCA and is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (National Math Honor Society), and Honor Roll. This fall, Anthony was the captain of the varsity golf team, a Student Ambassador, and also a member of the HillZone. He enjoys golf, football, working out, and his job working at Mariano’s grocery store. He’s currently undecided on a school, but is leaning towards majoring in business, pursuing a career in banking or as a CPA.
Faith Krumviede, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Krumviede, was named the Rotary Club Student of the Month. Faith is a senior at JCA, currently boasts a 3.99 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale, and is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society). Faith was recently honored as Miss Shorewood 2015, is a member of Holy Family Parish, and plans to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she plans to major in social work. Faith hopes to one day become a civil engineer.
Michaela Fossberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Fossberg, is a senior at JCA and was named the Exchange Club Student of the Month. Michaela currently serves as the president of both the National Honor Society and the Student Council. She’s also the vice president of the Leo Club, secretary of the Spanish National Honor Society, and a member of Mu Alpha Theta. In her spare time she is also on the Math Team, is a team manager for the boys volleyball program, and participates in the following additional clubs: Spanish club, Respect Life club, Student Ambassadors, and Varsity Club. Michaela plans on attending Northwestern University next fall, studying mathematics and actuarial sciences. She intends to become an actuary one day.
