Reigning two-time WNBA “6th Woman of the Year” Allie Quigley is coming back home to Joliet to run a one-day girls basketball camp for 3rd -8th graders along with the coaching staffs and players from the Allie Quigley Champions, Joliet Catholic Academy, Joliet Township High Schools, and University of St. Francis on Labor Day; Monday September 5, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Joliet Central High School Fieldhouse located at 201 E. Jefferson St., Joliet, IL 60432.

Campers will receive quality instruction, an Allie Quigley Champions Labor Day Basketball Camp T-shirt, and a post-camp autograph session.

All registrations should be filled out and mailed to Joliet Catholic Academy, 1200 N. Larkin Ave., Joliet, IL 60435.

The Allie Quigley Champions are a Joliet-area travel basketball organization with teams from 5th grade to high school. The camp is not a tryout for the AQ Champions and all skill levels are allowed. AQ Champions tryouts will be announced shortly.

Quigley, a 2004 JCA graduate, went on to star collegiately at DePaul and is currently in her ninth professional season, playing both in the WNBA for her hometown Chicago Sky and spending her winters overseas competing in the Euroleague. Quigley will play in Istanbul Turkey for Fenerbahce Sports Club during the 2016-2017 campaign, following the conclusion of the WNBA season.

Joining in camp instruction will be Allie’s sister Samantha Quigley, the head coach at the University of St. Francis. A former JCA and DePaul star on the hardwood, Quigley recently served as an assistant coach for the USA Basketball Women’s U17 Team that won a bronze medal at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship in Zaragoza, Spain. Quigley’s Saints squad went 28- in 2015-2016, capturing the CCAC South Division title with a 17-2 conference record.

The camp is designed with an emphasis on skill development in all facets of the game of basketball. Local area head basketball coaches Laura Brumfiel (Joliet Central), Nick Leonard (Joliet Catholic), and others will be present. Local area college and high school basketball players will coach and assist in running the camp as well. This is a wonderful atmosphere to learn, regardless of your experiences or skill level.
