JCA students, faculty, and the administration recently participated in the Catholic Charities “Adopt a Family” program for Christmas. JCA adopted 30 families. This marked the tenth consecutive year JCA has participated in the program.

Homerooms raised over $900 in cash, as well as provided over $1,000 in gifts to be donated to those in need. Students participated in wrapping presents in the JCA library on Thursday, while students and employees delivered gifts today.

JCA English teacher Christine Scheibe said, “students did a good job by providing a wide variety of toys and clothes through their donations. They showed the true Christmas spirit by amount of gifts and monetary donations made. The spirit isn’t in the gifts, but in the fact they felt compelled to give without any incentive”.

JCA junior Julius Quilarto said, “it was nice be able to give and feel that true spirit of Christmas. We have up time today during homeroom and lunch to do something for others.” The junior student council member added, “I’m not any good at wrapping presents, but I’m trying”!
