Joliet Catholic
Academy is pleased to offer our students the ability to purchase their textbooks online for
the 2011-12 school year. The online bookstore provides each JCA family with the option to purchase all required
textbooks quickly and easily at one location.
Studysource.com
has designed a secure, user-friendly web site for our school that
offers the required and supplemental learning materials students need for
another successful school year.
This guide provides
the basic steps to help you get started with the JCA online bookstore. Additional
details and information are available on the JCA website bookstore page, at the
following web address –
www.jca-online.org/current_students/indexes/index_bookstore_cs.htm.
[Note that all spaces in all web addresses shown must be typed as the
“underscore” (underline) key.]
How do I login to the JCA Online Bookstore?

Go to the JCA online
bookstore website (www.studysource.com/JolietCatholicAcademy)
to begin. The JCA website bookstore page is also accessible via the
Bookstore
menu item on the “Current Students” or “Parents” pages on our JCA website
(www.jca-online.org). Click on
the
Bookstore
menu item and then follow the on screen instructions to be taken directly
to the online bookstore login screen.
- Enter your Username (student’s
“first initial” followed by “last name”) and Password (the student’s
8-character ID number which is located on your student schedule).
Note: if your Username (Log In name)
conflicted with that of another student, then a special Username is assigned
and included in the July package of information sent to all students.
Look for a separate sheet that provides your Username if this applies to
you.

During your initial login to
the bookstore everyone is required to provide a functioning e-mail
address. The studysource.com system
requires that everyone validate their e-mail address as follows:

The studysource.com system will send
an automatic validation e-mail
message to the address specified. This
message will contain a “validation code” that must be used to successfully complete
your initial login onto the online JCA bookstore.
If you do not receive the validation email within 5 minutes check your junk/spam
folder and verify the email wasn’t rejected. If it was not received call
customer service for the validation code.
2.
Type the validation code into the
appropriate box on screen and you are now ready to review all information
available on this website.
Why is validation required? The
e-mail validation procedure is very common today on websites that sell products
online. The simple steps help guarantee that important e-mail notifications
will be successfully sent when you purchase books.
What if I don’t have an e-mail
account? Many
credible companies offer free e-mail accounts today, e.g., “gmail” from Google
(www.google.com) and “hotmail” from
Microsoft (www.msn.com). We urge all students to sign-up for a free
e-mail account. Please contact Mr.

this process.

How do I view and purchase my
textbooks?
- Click on “My Classes” to view
the list of books required for this student. Note that every effort has
been made to insure the accuracy of this personalized textbook list. Please
refer to your schedule and the paper copy of the JCA booklist (by class
year and subject/course) if you have any questions.
- Your computer screen will now
display the complete list of books required for this student. Note that used
textbooks are shown whenever they are available. Scroll through this list
and review all the textbooks that are listed and checked. If one of your
classes does not automatically appear then you may elect to browse the
“All Textbooks” column (along the left side of your screen) and select
(“check”) the desired textbook(s) to add them to your checkout list. Remember to uncheck any book(s) that you
already have acquired. Click the “Add Checked to Cart” when you are
ready to proceed to checkout.

Some
textbooks will be available as rentals this year. If you choose to
rent the book be sure to uncheck the used and new boxes.
Rental books are sent in
either new or used condition based on availability. Please read the
rental agreement carefully before you check out.
- The checkout procedure is
secure and consists of five steps:

Enter and validate Shipping and
Billing information
4.
Review your order
5.
On screen Order Receipt
Monitor your e-mail for confirmation and other messages
about your textbook order.

clicking on the “Help/FAQ” when you are “signed-in” to the JCA online
bookstore. The “Help/FAQ” menu item
