Technology

Providing students, teachers and staff with state of the art technology is a primary objective of the JCA technology team. A second and equally important goal is to provide students with an environment that prepares them to be successful in their careers. The tech team consists of two individuals, Technology coordination and Technology Assistant, who oversee all aspects of computing for the entire campus. The tech team is committed to continuous improvement of technology at JCA.

Computer Center – The JCA Computer Center is a showcase of technology at JCA. It is located on the 2^nd floor, east of the Chapel, and is open to students on regular school days from 7:20 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Consisting of four computer labs (4800 sq. ft.) with 120 workstations, five network printers, one scanner, two wireless presentation carts with projectors and a wireless access point. The environment includes an excellent mix of software applications (e.g. Office XP Pro, Adobe publication titles, animation/move making and much more) built upon a Windows 2003 server foundation. Individual server logins give everyone space to save their school work on the JCA network.

Technology is ever changing – The tech team stresses the importance of lifelong and continuous learning in today's rapidly changing world of technology. Our advice – "Students who want to maximize their opportunities for success in today's high tech world must understand that - learning is a life-long journey...and not a destination."

Technology Coordinator – Mr. DiVecchio has served as Technology Coordinator at JCA since July 2002. His 23+ years of work experience at Bell Labs/AT&T/Lucent R&D before coming to JCA established his strong foundation in all areas of technology. He enjoys sharing his knowledge to provide assistance to students, teachers and staff for all computer related questions and issues.

Technology Assistant – Mrs. Reato has 20 years of experience in the high tech field, and has been a member of JCA's technology department since the summer of 2004. Her professional work experience includes telecommunications R&D, software implementation, design and testing.
