Library / Media Center Guidelines
The purpose of the LMC is to provide students with a quiet environment for study, research, and leisure reading, and the materials needed for individual and class use.
No food or drink is allowed.
All school rules, including dress code, apply during school hours.
Checking Out Materials
A current student ID is required.
Materials are checked out for 2 weeks.
May be renewed for additional 2 weeks.
Fines are 25 cents per school day, per item.
Reference materials may be checked out overnight. (Fine is 1.00 per day)
Back issues of magazines may be checked out.
Reserve materials may not be checked out.
Lost of Damaged Items
Students are responsible for any lost or damaged items. Replacement cost is charged. Students who steal or deliberately destroy Library materials must pay for the items and will receive a discipline referral.
Passes to the Library / Media Center
Students may come to the LMC on a pass from a teacher or staff member. Students wishing to use LMC computers during homeroom period must get a pass from the Librarian in order to insure that a computer will be available for use. Students who are either disruptive or repeatedly disregard Library rules will not be allowed to get passes to the Library.
Computer Usage
Access and use of the computers must only be for the purpose of education or research. Inappropriate use will result in the cancellation of privileges. All Computer Center rules regarding the usage of computers apply to the computers in the LMC. Please see the Parent-Student Handbook for complete details.
Interlibrary Loan
The JCA Library / Media Center is a member of the Prairie Area Library System. Additional research materials and resources are available on Interlibrary Loan. Students are encouraged to submit requests as soon as possible to allow for travel time.

Lost & Found
Any items left in the LMC and not claimed with 2 days will be taken to Lost and Found in the Deans Office.
