Alumna Jessie Bertino Bradley University’s Athlete of the Week

JCA grad Jessie Bertino (’11) has earned herself a spot on the Division 1 Bradley University women’s tennis team. During her time here at JCA, the Lockport native was a standout player, having been a four-year letter in tennis and earning all-conference honors as a senior. Now a sophomore at Bradley University, the political science major has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week (9/26/12). She earned this recognition after winning the consolation final Flight 3 Singles at the season-opening Redbird Roundup at ISU on September 21st.

To be considered for Scholar-Athlete of the Week, a student must be at least a sophomore in class standing and possess a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence. Jessie boasts a 3.80 GPA. She has also earned the Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award for posting a minimum GPA of 3.5 for two semesters.

Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to produce such excellent students and athletes, that they may carry on JCA’s tradition of academic and athletic excellence far past our halls.
