Bannon, D’Andrea, and Reitz named October students of the month

 

Joliet Catholic Academy is excited to announce October’s Students of the Month: Michael Bannon, Kiwanis Club of Joliet; Stefani D’Andrea, Joliet Noon Lions Club; Tyler Reitz, Rotary Club of Joliet.

Michael Bannon is the son of Joseph and Karen. He scored a 36, a perfect score on his ACT. Michael has also been inducted into the National Honor Society, is a member of Mu Alpha Theta academic society, Spanish National Honors Society, and Math Team. Michael is very active on campus at JCA as a Student Council Representative, Scholastic Bowl Team Captain, Student Ambassador, and Key Club Vice President.

He is also a recipient of the National Spanish Exam Gold Award and a current National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist in the running for one of 8,300 scholarships. After graduation, Michael plans to major in Business with an emphasis in accounting. His goal is to become a certified public accountant.

Stefani D’Andrea is the daughter of Armand and Anne. She boasts a weighted grade point average of 4.71. She is ranked in the top 10 students in her class and is a member of the National Honor Society and French National Honors Society. Active in many extracurricular activities, Stefani is in French Club, Student Council, is a Student Ambassador, Vice President of the Respect Life Club and captain of the Girls Varsity Soccer Team.

Outside of school, Stefani is active in the Youth Group at St. Mary Immaculate and is also a Swim instructor at Ottawa Street Pool. After high school, she plans to attend college but has not decided which. However she is sure she wants to major in nursing at whatever school she chooses.

Tyler Reitz is the son of James and Lori . Carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.07 and playing varsity football, Tyler is both an outstanding student and athlete. Tyler is a recipient of the Health Award and is a Franciscan Carmelite Scholar.

He is actively involved in several extracurricular activities, including Varsity Club and the Respect Life Club and is also a Student Ambassador. Though he lists math as his favorite subject, Tyler plans to major in Physical Therapy in college.
