Alumni Association hosting Hoops Hysteria, announces Alumni Awards

The Joliet Catholic Academy Alumni Association will be hosting Hoops Hysteria at a new venue on Saturday, April 6 from 4:30-11 p.m. at The Department in downtown Joliet. Cost is $30 per person.

The Final Four of the NCAA Basketball Tournament will be shown on flat-screen TVs throughout the venue. There will be an open bar from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and a cash bar afterward. There will also be free beer and wine tastings from Frankfort Winestyles.

Attendees will have the chance to take part in the 50/50 raffle or in one of the Final Four square pools. All funds collected by the Alumni Association go back to the school to support scholarships, tuition assistance and special projects.

“JCA’s  Alumni Association always seeks out opportunities to give back to the school, whether it is by way of supporting  an initiative or the critical process of tuition assistance,” said Holly Scordo, JCA’s Director of Alumni Relations. “Events like these support those efforts and help keep our alumni involved.”

Through events such as this, the JCA Alumni Association has been able to donate more than $383,000 back to the students of JCA.

The 2013 Alumni Awards also will be announced between games at Hoops Hysteria. Dr. Ray Meyer ‘82(Alumnus of the Year), Mr. Chuck Bernard (Honorary Alumnus), Mr. Richard Morelli ‘54(Rev. Paddy McGowan Award) and Gloria Dollinger (Outstanding Service to JCA) are this year’s honorees.
