ANGELS VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS BISHOP MAC

JCA_IMG 166Angels Volleyball opened the East Suburban Catholic Conference schedule at home Tuesday night with a dominant 25-6, 25-13 victory over Bishop McNamara. Megan Rogers had 6 kills and Julia Shemaitis added 5 kills for the Angels (10-2, 1-0). Madeline Grimm and Mallory Krzysciak totaled 13 and 12 service points, respectively. Krzysciak had 3 digs and Maddie Naal and Angela Vera notched block kills. Brenna Garland, Ysamar Lozano, Keegan Fornoff and freshman Taylor Zurliene each contributed to the second-set victory.

 “After 10 days of just practicing, the girls came out ready to play,” JCA coach Christine Scheibe said. “We passed well, got out to a strong start with our serving and we were just able to roll.”

The Angels return to serve it up against St. Viator High School on Tuesday, October 1, 2014. Freshmen and sophomore matches begin at 5 p.m. Varsity follows the sophomores in the JCA’s Student Activity Center. Let’s pack-the-gym for this Heritage/Homecoming Week match!
