Hillmen soccer nets first win of the season
JCA boys soccer scored their first win of the season at the Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA) soccer tournament this past weekend, securing a third place finish. JCA kicked off against IMSA, recording their first win of the season (1-4-1). Scoring for JCA was senior Panagiotis Zografos unassisted and senior Antonio Acosta assisted by senior Tommy Paige. Zografos scored on a shot from 25 yards out that skimmed under the cross bar and in. Paige cut around the IMSA defender in front of him along the end-line and hit a low cross across the face of goal that Acosta tapped in on the back post. Lorenzo Reyes had an outstanding game at center midfield controlling the pace of play and distributing the ball amongst the Hillmen forwards.

During tournament play, JCA also faced Glenbard West and Antioch. Hillmen Panagiotis Zografos scored in the Glenbard West contest, assisted by Tommy Paige. Paige took a free kick from outside the 18 yard box and slipped a pass around the wall to a streaking Zografos to score the goal. Although, JCA did not score in the Antioch game, sophomore Jared Olson had an excellent game at center midfield.
