mary_murphy_var_gvbJCA rebounded Tuesday night in East Suburban Catholic Conference action with a 25-13, 25-13 victory over St. Viator.

Mary Murphy led the Angels (11-3, 2-1) with 15 assists and 9 points, including 4 aces. Julia Shemaitis had 5 kills and Megan Rogers combined 4 kills with 8 points, including 3 aces. Angela Vera added 4 kills, Mallory Krzysciak had 7 digs, Madeline Grimm had 6 digs and Maddie Naal notched 2 block kills.

“This was a good match for us,” JCA coach Christine Scheibe said. “The setters got the ball to a variety of hitters and the blockers were able to slow down the ball for our defense. We did a great job of owning the first 10 points of each game.” The Angels will take the court against Providence on Tuesday, October 8th.

Freshmen and sophomore matches begin at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow the sophomores at approximately 6 p.m. Come out to JCA’s Student Activity Center and cheer the Angels to victory!
