JCA LENDS HELPING HAND TO WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM

JCA parents, football alumni, faculty and staff, alumni, anonymous donors, and various alumni came to together in an act of kindness to collect funds and prepare dinner for once-rivals Washington Panthers football team last night. JCA football mom Sheri Voss helped coordinate the effort with other parents and students to raise more than $3,000 in just three days to benefit those affected by the devastating tornadoes that hit last weekend – including the 8 Panthers team members and 1 coach who lost their homes to the storm. Food, drinks, and warm blankets were loaded into cars and the envoy was blessed with a prayer by Sr. Barb before they headed down for the two and a half hour drive. Coach Crouch of the Panthers stated that they are a faith filled community who starts their meals with prayer and asked JCA to lead them in prayer before dinner was served. A pasta dinner was served after Washington’s practice (who is still competing in state finals) to 85 players and 15 coaches as well as as policemen and volunteers. JCA players sat down and shared food and conversation with the boys and the coaches- sharing laughs and smiles with a team who have had a trying week. To read more, click over to the Herald News.
