Dear Friends,
On August 15, 2014 the JCA 2009/2010 State Championship & St. Joes Baseball team will be challenging their fathers in a 12 inch softball game at the Inwood Softball complex and a dinner at Traditions Restaurant immediately following.
A brief history on my son Andrew. Andrew was a very warm, caring and giving man who loved his family, friends and most importantly playing sports. Andrew was part of the 2009 State Championship Baseball team and the fourth place team in 2010, St. Joes Baseball, along with playing JCA Football and Basketball. Andrew went on to play baseball at South Suburban College. On Sept 18, 2011at the age of 20, Andrew’s life was cut short when he suffered a fatal heart attack while playing a pick-up basketball game at St. Raymond’s. Andrew was doing what he loved to do.
Since my son’s death, the JCA graduating Class of 2010 has two yearly fund raisers to assist incoming freshman at JCA. This summer, the JCA class of 2010 baseball team has scheduled a father/son softball charity game to raise money for the Remembering “G” Scholarship Fund which has provided over $82,000 to make a young Hillmen and Angel’s dream come true of attending JCA.
Please come and watch a fun and friendly game of softball. If you are unable to attend the softball game, come and meet us at Traditions for dinner, drinks and laughs with friends.
