JCA bounces back, rolls to 41-13 victory

WHEATON – Joliet Catholic Academy bounced back with a much-needed victory over Wheaton North High School Friday night, 41-13.

JCA found itself in a familiar position after a three and out on their first drive of the ballgame. But the ensuing punt return was muffed and recovered by junior tight end Jake Kinsella.

From there on out it was all Hilltoppers. Led by a strong performance by a defensive unit that forced four more turnovers, JCA capitalized on short field offensive opportunities.

The offense also gained confidence through two big plays courtesy of junior running back Michael Johnson. Quarterback Cade Earl connected with Johnson on a 37-yard touchdown early in the second quarter that sparked the Hilltoppers.

Johnson took off for a 67-yard touchdown run later in the quarter with help from strong line play.
