Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to announce their March Kiwanis Club of Joliet Student of the Month Laruen Vanisko.

As a member of the JCA Honors Program, Vanisko has been on the Honor Roll every semester during her high school career.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society.

Vanisko is the vice president of the JCA Respect Life Club, an active member of FOLLOW Youth Ministry as a peer minister, and a certified trainer for people with special needs.

She played on the varsity basketball team for two years and varsity cross country for one.

Vanisko is the daughter of Steven and Susan Vanisko of Joliet and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

After high school, Vanisko plans to attend the University of Dayton, Marquette University, or Lewis University. Although she is unsure as to what career she would like to pursue, Vanisko knows she loves working with people and helping those in need. She will most-likely pursue a career in the field of health care or education.
