Red, White and Blue Day in honor of military personnel

red, white and blue day 2015

Friday, March 27 was JCA’s annual Red, White and Blue Day in support of American military personnel. Students, faculty, and staff had the opportunity to make a $2  donation to the Wounded Warriors Project, an organization that provides our wounded and recovering soldiers and their families with a variety of programs to help ease them back into daily life.

Donors received a wristband which afforded them the opportunity to dress down in red, white, and blue. Students, faculty and staff who do not wish to make a voluntary donation were required to be in regular dress code.

English Teacher and co-sponsor of the annual fundraiser, Mrs. Celeste Mackey, announced the results over the the PA system the following week, “On behalf of the Wounded Warriors Project, Mrs. Arnett (co-sponsor) and I thank the JCA community for your generosity. Friday’s Red, White and Blue Day donations amounted to $1,272. We also want to thank Midwest EDM Specialties in Channahon for their very generous donation.”
