Speed reading can increase ACT score

act up speed reading

ACT Up Speed Reading is a unique program which equips students with the power to increase ACT scores and help with better grades in high school and college coursework. The ACT is written so that students must be able to read 500 words per minute in order to comfortably navigate the ACT. High School students do not come close to that speed. Knowing the answers is not the problem. The problem is nobody reads fast enough to finish the test. ACT Up Speed Reading has a curriculum designed by certified reading specialists for high school students that can increase their reading speed by 2 to 2-1/2 times.

To introduce this program to Joliet Catholic Academy, ACT Up will be offering their first class at JCA on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 for FREE. JCA students who have already taken an ACT and plan on retesting in June or the fall of 2015 are eligible for this free trial class. Normally this workshop costs $189.

Pre-registration is required by Friday, May 1. JCA student can pre-register for the workshop in JCA’s Gudiance Department or online at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4ea8a92caafd0-actupspeed
