Wahl recieves AATF Award

Joliet Catholic Academy senior, Adam Wahl, has received the American Association of Teachers of French Excellence in French Award. This award is made annually to a student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of French as well as exceptional commitment to the French language and the many cultures where it is spoken. Recipients must be non-native speakers of French.

Wahl has studied French for four years under JCA’s Foreign Language Department Chair, Florence Austrums. He traveled abroad to France, competed in the National French Contest, is a member of the French Club, is a French Club Officer, participated in the National French Week, is a member of Societe honoraire (French National Honor Society, and is a Societe honoraire Officer.

The AATF was founded in 1927 and has as its mission the promotion of the study of French language and French-speaking literatures and cultures at all levels. The AATF is proud to recognize the achievements of outstanding students and their teachers. The organization hopes the award will motivate students to continue their study of French either through a career in teaching or as a complement to another profession.
