Girls Tennis

The Angels tennis team went on the road to St. Viator on Tuesday night and came away with a 4-1 team victory. The following Angels won their matches against the Lions:

Nina Bertino Wins #1 Singles 6-0,6-2
McCoy Hutchison and Maddie Bauer Win #1 Doubles  6-0, 6-2
Lauren Siegfried and Annie Payne Win #2 Doubles  6-1, 6-4
Olivia Pyzowski  and Claire Allgood Wins #3 Doubles 7-6, 6-4

Cross Country

On Tuesday, The Hillmen and Angels competed in Midlothian Meadows at the ESCC Conference meet. The Frosh-Soph Angel runners took second place as a team. The Angels were led by overall race winner, freshman Emma McSteen. Freshman Grace Bannon took seventh place overall and freshman Ashlyn Egiizo finished in 16th place to pace the Angels.

The varsity Angels were led by a strong performance by junior Kelly Testin in eighth place overall. Juniors Shannon Quinn, Madeline Blotnik, Dani Scudder, and Alyson Egizio all placed in the top 20 for the Angels.

The Hillmen runners were led by senior Harry McSteen with a 12th place overall finish and Zach Corcoran in 40th.

The cross country team also recently competed in the Richard Spring Invitational held at Detweiller Park in Peoria. As a team, fourteen runners set personal records (PR’s) for their fastest three mile times. The Hillmen were led by senior Harry McSteen at 16:44. Tyler Hinthorn, Zach Corcoran, and Josh Lemke all managed to run the course in under 20 minutes.

The Angels were led by Kelly Testin with a 20:23 finish. Dani Scudder, Shannon Quinn, Madeline Blotnik, Emma McSteen, and Grace Bannon all finished under 22 minutes.

Girls Tennis

The JCA girls tennis squad took the short trip down Larkin Ave. on Monday night and came away victorious over Joliet West 6-1. The following Angels came away with victories over the Tigers:

Zoe Fischer and Katie McSteen Win 6-3, 6-4

The Angels travel to St. Viator tonight for an ESCC matchup with the Lions, starting at 4:30 p.m.

Boys Soccer

At Joliet Catholic, the Hillmen dropped their match at home against Providence 6-0 on Monday night.

Next up for the Hilltoppers is an ESCC matchup on the road at Marist this Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. under the lights at Marist’s south side of Chicago campus.
