October Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to announce the October Students of the Month: seniors Zoe Fischer (Lions Club), Jared Olson (Rotary Club), Kyle Conway (Kiwanis Club), and Harry McSteen (Exchange Club).

Lions Club Student of the Month: Zoe Fischer

Zoe Fischer (Lions Club Student of the Month), the daughter of Andrew and Maria Fischer, currently sports a 3.82 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale. She is currently a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Student Council, History Club, Psych Club, 41-88 Art and Literary Magazine (Communications Director), Math Team, Student Ambassadors, Key Club and Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society). Zoe is also a member of the varsity girls tennis team at JCA. Outside of JCA, Zoe has volunteered for several non-profit organizations, including Feed My Starving Children and Daybreak Shelter. She enjoys reading, learning, and spending time with her family, especially watching movies. She was recently accepted to Valparaiso University, where she will continue her academic career in the fall of 2016. Zoe plans to double-major in Psychology and English, while focusing on becoming a writer.

Jared Olson

Rotary Club Student of the Month: Jared Olson

Jared Olson (Rotary Club Student of the Month), the son of Judy and Jerry Olson,  currently boasts a perfect 4.0 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale. The senior All-Conference varsity boys soccer player is also involved in Key Club, Math Team, Spanish Club, Victory View Media, and Student Ambassadors. Jared is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society), and Spanish National Honor Society. Jared is a member of the Youth Group at St. Mary Nativity Parish, and also plays club soccer for the Naperville Soccer Association. In his spare time he volunteers at the Day Break Shelter, the Peter Claver Center, and tutors grade school students at St. Mary Nativity. Jared in undecided on his college choice, but plans to study Civil Engineering.

Kyle Conway

Kiwanis Club Student of the Month: Kyle Conway

Kyle Conway (Kiwanis Club Student of the Month), the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Conway, is currently the Editor in Chief of the JCA Victory View Student Newspaper, President of the Psychology Club, President of the History Club, President of the Improv Club, and Vice President of the Drama Club. He’s also a member of the Thespian Society. Kyle is currently deciding between the University of Missouri and the University of Chicago, where he plans on majoring in journalism, or Business and Theater/Performance Studies.

Harry McSteen

Exchange Club Student of the Month: Harry McSteen

Harry McSteen (Exchange Club), the son of Harry Sr. and Marilyn McSteen,  is a four-year varsity runner for the JCA track and cross-country programs, where he has been a three year captain in each sport. He was the ESCC Conference Champion in the 400, 800, and the 4 x 400 relay He’s also a member of the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society), and National Spanish Honor Society. Harry is also involved in Student Ambassadors, Friday’s With Juan, Movie Club, The Hillzone, and Spanish Club. He was the Junior Class President, is currently the Executive Board President, and is also a recipient of the Ronald Reagan Leadership Award. The former Channahon Rotary Club Student of the Month plans on studying Industrial Design at either Purdue University or the University of Cincinnati.
