JCA announces annual Underclass Awards

Joliet Catholic Academy hosted its annual Underclass Awards ceremony this past Monday, May 22, 2017. Highlights from the morning’s ceremony included the presentation of the the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center Scholarship, which was established by Presence Health to recognize exemplary JCA students who plan to major in Health Sciences or within the Medical Field. Juniors Megan Williams and Ryan Zobel were presented with the scholarship. The following junior students were also presented with the prestigious Ronald Reagan Student Leader Award, which is bestowed upon students in recognition of their exceptional leadership and character: Nolan Byrd, Katherine Dow, Walter Osterberger, and Margaret Runde.

The ceremony was capped off with the announcement of the “Highest Grade Point Average” awards, presented to the student or students in each class that have exhibited the highest academic achievement in all fields of study. Freshman Claire Dow, sophomore Kylie Weis, and juniors Margaret Runde and Caitlyn Spreitzer all received honors for leading their respective classes academically.

The Joliet Catholic Academy administration and staff is proud of the individual and collective student accomplishments both in and out of the classroom during the 2016-2017 school year.
