Joliet Catholic Academy is getting ready to celebrate Heritage Week. Events are planned beginning Monday, October 2 through Friday, October 6.

Angels and Hilltoppers are excited to learn more about the Joliet Catholic Academy heritage and tradition as they prepare to welcome alumni home. JCA students will celebrate the charisms espoused by its two founding religious orders, the Joliet Franciscans and Carmelites.

The following is a detailed list of the events planned and daily charisms celebrated during Heritage Week:

Monday, October 2

Charism: Simplicity

Activity:  “Beggar Day”. Student “beggars” solicit donations in all religion classes.

Tuesday, October 3

Charism: Joy/Gratitude

Activity: Video of JOY is cast in all homerooms.

Wednesday, October 4

Charism: Service

Activity: Senior Service Day. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior retreat day.

Thursday, October 5

Charism:Hospitality

Activity: No Homeroom; lunches eat all of period 4 and 5 in Heritage Quad.

Friday, October 6

Charism: Witness

Activity: All-school Mass and dedication of front drive.
