JCA announces April Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the April Students of the Month: Delaney Phelan (Kiwanis Club), Ryan Zobel (Rotary Club), and Morgan Leuszler (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Delaney Phelan

Delaney Phelan, daughter of Jeff and Julie Phelan, currently holds a 4.68 GPA in the JCA Honors Program. Phelan is a member of National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. She also received a medal as the top student in Computer Science, and a certificate in 3D design during her academic career at JCA. She has been accepted in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Ryan Zobel, son of Michael and Jayme Zobel, currently holds a 3.99 GPA in JCA Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Zobel is a member of National Honor Society and was also honored with the Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center Scholarship. While at JCA he has served as a Student Ambassador, served as a leader on the senior Kairos retreat, volunteer in Campus Ministry (performing as a guitarist at all-school masses and school events), volunteered at Will County Habitat for Humanity, volunteered as a musical performer at the Easter Seals Telethon, and also participated in intramural basketball, JCA Student Council, and the Accepting Cultural Diversity Club. He is an accomplished musician who enjoys teaching, performing, and volunteering his musical talents. Zobel will attend DePaul University after being accepted into the Pathway Honors Program and hopes to one day become a dermatologist.

Morgan Leuszler

Morgan Leuszler, daughter of Derald and Laura Leuszler, currently holds a 4.28 GPA in JCA Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Leuszler is an Illinois State Scholar and also a member of the National Spanish Honor Society. While at JCA she was a four-year member of the JCA volleyball program and was a member to two IHSA Class 4A state runner-up teams. She also participates in Key Club, Leo Club, Student Ambassadors, Respect Life Club, and JCA Student Council. Leuszler will attend Loyola University in Chicago with plans on majoring in Bio-Chemistry and Pre-Medicine with hopes to become an orthopedic surgeon.
