JCA 2018 Homecoming Parade Information

All JCA clubs, sports, and organizations are invited to participate in the JCA Annual Homecoming Parade. The Parade will be held on Friday, September 28, at 4:30 p.m. Staging for the event will begin at 3 p.m. in the JCA parking lot. The lineup information will be given to participants at that time. This year’s theme is “Out of This World”

Requirements: All school organizations must notify Mrs. Arnett by Wednesday, September 26 and abide by the regulations and rules provided.

The float should coordinate with the 2018 Homecoming Theme: “Out of This World”

Judging: Judges will evaluate floats by three categories:
1. School Spirit including enthusiasm excitement during the parade
2. Craftsmanship and Attractiveness including design, appearance and presentation
3. Use of theme while maintaining originality and creativity

A panel of judges selected from the JCA community will judge all eligible floats before and during the parade. The decision of the judges is FINAL.
There will be First (1st), second (2nd), and Third (3rd) place winners. Winners will be announced at the football game and prizes will be awarded to moderators/coaches on Monday at school.

1st place – $75
2nd place – $50
3rd place $25

Safety Requirements: The safety requirements and measurements are listed below. All items must be in compliance or your float could be disqualified from the parade competition.

• It is the responsibility of sponsoring organizations to ensure that all vehicle drivers possess the appropriate class of driver’s license and have personal liability insurance. License and proof of insurance must be available the day of the parade.
• Participants may not get on and off the float during the event.

PARADE LINE UP INFO.: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2018

• Floats may begin to set up in the JCA parking lot beginning at 3pm. All floats must be present at the Student Parking Lot by 4:00 pm.
• All floats may continue to be worked on until 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot. If construction runs late, floats will be able to participate in the parade, however, they will be disqualified from the judging.
• The official line up judging will take place at 4:15 p.m. 3-4 p.m. is staging, 4:15 p.m. is the line up/role call/judging, and 4:30 p.m. is “show time”. The Parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. sharp.
• NO vehicles other than the floats will be permitted into the Student Parking Lot (north/ Ingalls side). All of the spots will be filled for floats; therefore room for additional cars will not be allotted. There is room in the senior lot or in the front of the building.
