JCA announces March Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the March Students of the Month: Sydney Pucel (Kiwanis Club), Alyssa Gomez (Rotary Club), and Keenan Hailey (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Sydney Pucel

Sydney Pucel, daughter of Jeff and Pamela Pucel, currently holds a 5.0 G.P.A. in JCA Honors and A.P. courses. Pucel is the co-salutatorian of the JCA 2019 graduating class and a member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Art Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Honor Society (where she serves as vice president), and National Spanish Honor Society (class officer). She also is a team captain and member of the Angels varsity girls’ soccer team. Pucel plans on attending Grand Valley State University to study speech-language pathology.

Alyssa Gomez

Alyssa Gomez, daughter of David and Corinne Gomez, currently holds a 4.31 G.P.A. in JCA Honors and A.P. courses. Gomez is a member of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. She earned certificates of academic achievement in the following courses while at JCA: English III, A.P. English, Journalism, Spanish I and Spanish II, and Theology. She is a also a member of the Accepting Cultural Diversity Club, Respect Life Club, Spanish Club president, JCA Student Ambassadors, and secretary of JCA senior class Student Council. Gomez has participated in the JCA cheer and dance programs and also dances competitively with Innovation Dance Company and Vaughan Dance Academy. She is currently undecided on her college of choice.

Keenan Hailey

Keenan Hailey, son of Jerry and Tisha Hailey, currently holds a 3.55 G.P.A. at JCA. Hailey has consistently been named an Honor Roll student throughout his four years at JCA. This past fall, he was a member of the 2018 IHSA Class 5A Football State Championship team at JCA. He was named to the 5A All State Team, East Suburban Catholic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Joliet Herald News Player of the Year, and Co-MVP of the state championship game. Hailey will attend Quincy University on an academic and athletic scholarship.
