Book Buy Back
 
MBS Direct will conduct JCA’s Book Buy Back. Current students will have the opportunity to sell their books to MBS Director on Wednesday and Thursday, May 22-23 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at JCA.
Please note: MBS Direct will only buy back the number of books they need. MBS Direct does not buy back novels. Also, some textbooks may be replaced for the following school year and consequently will not be bought back unless MBS Direct agrees to purchase them providing there is a need elsewhere.

Summer Assignments
 
Summer assignments will be distributed to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors in their respective classes. Incoming freshmen received their summer assignment through the mail. Summer assignments will also be available on the JCA website, www.jca-online.org, under the Student tab.

Student Schedules
 
Student schedules for sophomores, juniors and seniors will be e-mailed in July. Incoming freshmen will receive their schedule through the mail in July.

Booklists and Supplemental Items
 
Book lists and supplemental items information will be e-mailed to sophomores, juniors, and seniors along with their schedule in July. Incoming freshmen will receive information on books and supplemental items through the mail along with their schedule in July. A detailed booklist including ISBN numbers and supplemental items information will be available on the JCA website, www.jca-online.org, under the “Parents” tab.

Health Office Information
 
Please be advised of the following important Health Office requirements and information:
 
All student’s medication and medical equipment is to be picked up from the Health Office by the end of school on May 23, 2019. Those items not picked up with be disposed in accordance to school policy.

Juniors ONLY: A MCV4 (meningitis) vaccine is REQUIRED before the start of your student’s senior year. Please submit the signed and dated vaccination record to the Health Office.

All students:

*Please submit your ANNUAL Medication Administration Authorization form completed by parent and health care provider prior to the start of the academic school year 2019-2020. Along with your students own personal supply of needed medications in the original containers. Please see attached policy for additional information.

*All medications, including prescription, over the counter, or homeopathic, are to be kept in the health office EXCEPT those emergent medications, such as rescue inhalers, hypoglycemic agents and epinephrine injections. Emergent medication carried by a student requires a completed Medication Administration Authorization forms to be on file in the Health Office.

*Please submit your student’s ANNUAL Emergency Action Plan (Asthma, Diabetes, Food Allergy, Seizure) completed by a health care provider prior to the start of the academic school year 2019-2020.

*Traveling and International Students: students that travel for more than 2 weeks to or are from high risk TB regions as indicated by the CDC, are required to have an Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) before returning to school and every year before the start of the new school year. Either the QuantiFERON-Gold in Tube test (QFT-GIT or the T-SPOT) that have been completed in the United States will be accepted. The current areas of high risk are: Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Russia.
