JCA Angels Dance seeks to repeat as State Champions

The Joliet Catholic Academy Varsity Girls Dance Team will seek their second consecutive IHSA Class 1A State Championship this weekend at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, IL. Competition begins this Friday, January 31 in the preliminary round with the defending champion Angels taking the floor at 12:41 p.m. Friday’s round and scores will determine Saturday’s final round.

The Angels qualified for state this past weekend at the Geneva Sectional, earning first place with a score of 93.78, the second highest score among the state’s five sectional sites feeding into the state finals.

The JCA Angels Dance Team is coached by Kelsey Kunz, Kristina Sak, and Carley Serena. Team members include Olivia Antzoulatos, Emily Bolek, Lily Budny, Makenna Didech, Alyssa Dockendorf, Skye Farias, Janessa Garcia, Naomi Kasper, Teagan Kubinski, Mallory Paolucci, Erica Passo, Abby Powers, Amanda Sands, Riley Soto, Ava Tomich, and Maddy Vercelli.
