JCA announces January Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy president/principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the January Students of the Month: Libby Gregurich (Kiwanis Club), Dan Mangun (Rotary Club), and Joseph Batusich (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Libby Gregurich, daughter of Richard and Reyna Gregurich, currently has a 4.94 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Gregurich is a member of National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. She has been a four-year member of the “A” Honor Roll at JCA. Gregurich is also a member of the JCA Angels varsity tennis program. She is currently undecided on her college decision, but plans to study law or journalism.

Dan Mangun, son of Terry and Jean Mangun, currently has a 4.18 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Mangun is a member of National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and has been a member of the “A” or “B” Honor Roll all four years at JCA. Mangun is a four-year member of the JCA boys volleyball program, and also competes at the club level with UNO Volleyball Club and USA Volleyball. He will attend Loyola University Chicago on an NCAA Division-I volleyball scholarship.

Joseph Batusich, son of John and Jill Batusich, currently has a 3.95 GPA at JCA. Batusich is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, secretary of Students for Troops, a JCA Student Ambassador, and an at-large member of the JCA Student Council. Batusich is a member of the JCA varsity baseball program and also plays travel baseball with the Downers Grove Longshots. He will attend Lake Land College on a baseball scholarship and plans to study paramedical studies.
