Joliet Catholic Academy president/principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announced Jared Voss ’92 as the next Director of Admissions. Voss has served as a faculty member in the history and physical education departments at JCA over the past 26 years, while also serving as the head baseball coach for the past 23 years. Throughout his tenure at JCA, he’s also coached football, girls basketball, flag football, intramurals, and has been a leader on numerous Kairos retreats.
Voss earned his BA in History and Secondary Education from the University of St. Francis in 1996 and also holds an MA in Educational Administration/Type 75 Certificate from Governors State University ’07. He’s led the Hilltopper baseball program to three state championships during his tenure (’09, ’13, ’22), most recently this past spring with the IHSA Class 2A State Championship. He’s also a member of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association and East Suburban Catholic Conferences Halls of Fame.
The Voss family name is synonymous with Joliet Catholic Academy. Voss’ mother Christine has been employed at JCA for 26 years, and currently serves as the Director of Special Events. Older brother Jonathan Voss ’88, captained the Hilltoppers’ 1987 state championship football team. Younger brother Joel Voss graduated in 2000. Sister-in-law Sheri (Ladas) Voss ’88 was a member of the 1986-1988 three-peat national champion pom-pom squads. Voss’ niece Abigail captained the 2019 Dance Team state champions. Nephews Drew ’15 and Aidan ’22 are also graduates, with Aidan recently captaining both the football and baseball teams to state championships this past year.
This upcoming fall, he will be inducted into the JCA Hall of Champions – Athletics on September 2. He resides in Naperville with is wife Allyson and daughter Lyla.
Voss said, “after 26 years in the classroom, I am excited and honored to be named JCA’s new Director of Admissions. JCA has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I feel privileged to be in a position to be able to share our school’s mission and Catholic values with future Angels and Hilltoppers. At Joliet Catholic Academy, we pride ourselves in not only welcoming our students, but their entire families, into our community. I am looking forward to meeting families who are eager to join our JCA family and experience all we have to offer.”
