JCA announces October Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the October Students of the Month: Carter Holbrook (Kiwanis Club), Lydia Pultorak (Rotary Club) and Vivica Bofah (Lions Club).   JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Carter Holbrook, son of Brad and Amy Holbrook of Plainfield, is a graduate of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School. Carter has many accomplishments in his time at JCA.  He was an AAU Academic All-American in Volleyball during the 2022 school year along with being a State Qualifier for the Math team.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, NEHS, and Spanish Honor Society along with being a member of the Student Council and Key Club treasurer. Carter plans to pursue a Masterโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering with hopes of one day being able to design roller coasters in the Amusement Park Industry.  Congratulations Carter! 

Lydia Pultorak is the daughter of Ed and Sue Pultorak of Joliet, is a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Grade School.  She has received many awards at JCA including medals in Guitar, Metal Smithing, the National French Contest, Computer Applications, and French and certificates in Honors Physics, Pre-Calculus and Drawing Media.   She is the Wildlife Club President and co-founder, a member of the Key Club, Student council and Student Ambassadors.  She is also a member of NHS, NEHS, National Art Honor Society, and is a Heritage Award Scholarship winner.  Lydia is very involved with the outdoors and is a member of the King Conservation Science Scholars at Brookfield Zoo, the Will County Humane Society, and Forest Preserve District of Will County.    She plans to attend Purdue University and major in Wildlife and then move to a career in Wildlife or Zoology.  Congratulations Lydia! 

Vivica Bofah is the daughter of George Bofah of Romeoville, is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School.  She is a member of the NHS, National Spanish Honor Society, International Thespian Society, and NEHS.   She has earned awards in Theatre Arts (medal), Theology (certificate), Honors Physics (certificate), AP English (certificate) and a JCA Art Award.  Vivica is very involved at JCA and excels at the following: Track and Field, Drama Club, ACDC Club, Medical Science Club, Empowerment Club, Key and Leo Club, 41-88 Art / Literary Magazine, and Victory View Newspaper.   Vivica has the distinction of earning the PSAT National African American Scholar Award.   She plans to attend the University of Maryland and major in Public Health and Nursing.  Congratulations Vivica!
