JCA announces November Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the November Students of the Month: Marley Hennessy (Kiwanis Club), Thomas Kemp (Rotary Club) and Preston Buss (Lions Club).   JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Marley Hennessy, daughter of Michael and Maria of Shorewood, is a graduate of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School.  She has been a part of the Soccer team, Tennis team, Drama Club, Habitat for Humanity and Student Ambassadors for all of her time at JCA.  She is in the National Honor Society, National English Honors Society, National Spanish Honors Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.   Marley is in all Honors classes and AP classes, and she has been a part of the Student Council for 4 years.   Marley plans on attending college where she plans to major in either journalism or marketing / business management. Congratulations Marley!

 

Thomas Kemp, son of Bart and Regina Kemp of Elwood, is a graduate of Elwood Grade School.   His favorite subject is Statistics, and he is a member of the National Honor Society,  National Spanish Honors Society, and the National English Honors Society.  Tommy is a Heritage Award Winner, and he is an Illinois State Scholar.  He was voted as a member of the 2022 ESCC baseball all-conference team, was a member of the 2022 baseball State Champion team, and the 2021 football State Champion team.  Tommy also received recognition in the Math Individual State Competition.   Tommy is a member of the Math Team, Habitat for Humanity, Big Buddies Little Buddies, Student Council and Ambassadors, and the Human Rights Club. Congratulations Tommy!

 

Preston Buss, son of Bryan and Jennifer Buss of Plainfield, is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School.   He is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.  Preston is the President of Big Buddies Little Buddies, President of the Human Rights Club, Vice President of Habitat for Humanity, is a leader of the Hillzone, a member of the Student Council and Student Ambassadors.  Preston received the Heritage Award, is an AAU Academic All-American, received the Patrick Quigley scholarship, is an Illinois State Scholar and was a member of the Homecoming Court.  Preston plans on attending Villanova University where he plans to major in Finance and Management Info Systems. Congratulations Preston!
