JCA announces October Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the JCA October Students of the Month: Emily Morrissette (Kiwanis Club), Jennifer Krizka (Rotary Club), and Miguel Moreno (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Senior Emily Morrissette

Emily Morrissette, daughter of Matt and Danielle Morrissette, has attained a 4.80 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Morrissette is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society. She has earned an AP English Medal of Achievement and certificates of achievement in Health and Spanish classes during her time at JCA. Morrissette is also a member of the JCA Angels varsity girls tennis program. She plans on attending a four-year college in the Midwest to study psychology and legal studies, with hopes to earn a master’s degree in the future.

Senior Jennifer Krizka

Jennifer Krizka, daughter of Marty and Lucienne Krizka, has attained a 4.50 GPA at JCA in Honors and AP classes. Krizka is a member of National Honor Society, National French Honor Society, Bowling Club, Habitat for Humanity Environmental Club, Varsity Club, Key Club, French Club, and the varsity softball and basketball teams at JCA. She has been named All-Conference in softball, Illinois Coaches Association Softball All-State Team, Herald News All-Area, Herald News Athlete of the Week, NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete, and Daily Southtown All-Area. She also plays travel softball for the Chicago Cheetahs. Krizka will continue her collegiate career as a student-athlete at Oakland University on an athletic and academic scholarship, where she plans on majoring in sports marketing.

Senior Miguel Moreno

Miguel Moreno, son of Miguel Moreno and Rosa Siesquen-Soto, has attained a 4.54 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Moreno is a member of National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, Tech Club, Student Help Desk, Student Ambassadors, Scholastic Bowl, and the varsity boys soccer and lacrosse teams. His favorite subjects are math and computer science. He volunteers at Day Break Shelter and enjoys boxing and hanging out with friends in his spare time. Moreno plans on attending Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and will major in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Robotic Engineering. He plans to work in the petroleum industry upon graduation.
