JCA Celebrates Heritage Week October 1-5

In celebration of 150 years of Catholic Education in Will County, Joliet Catholic Academy will be honoring the Carmelites, Joliet Franciscans, former faculty/staff and alumni during the Annual JCA Heritage Week. 

On Wednesday October 3rd, JCA will host its 6th annual All School Retreat and Service Day. It is a regular school day and attendance is expected.  The sophomores and juniors will be in class retreats conducted by campus ministry. The seniors and freshmen will all be engaged in community service projects in the greater Joliet area. We will be following regular school hours for starting time and dismissal. It is spirit wear dress code for everyone. Freshmen, Seniors and staff who are chaperoning will need to bring their own lunch. If you are on outdoor projects, please dress warmly. All sophomore and junior students on campus for the day will have lunch provided.  We ask all juniors to please bring a snack that can be shared. Also please remember to bring permission slips with you.

Heritage Week Daily Celebrations

Monday: Prayer Day – We will be sending out special prayers for you to use with your class at the start of each period.

Tuesday: Picnic day – students will be allowed to eat outside on the quad and will have the whole lunch period. There are no homerooms on Thursday.

Wednesday: Service/Retreat Day

Thursday: Beggar Day -Students will be visiting all Theology classes to beg for alms for the poor. All money raised will go to the Carmelite and Franciscan missions.

Friday: Celebration Day – We will have an All School Mass to celebrate the week at 9:15 a.m. All JCA families are welcome to attend.
