Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the May Students of the Month: Jake Gimbel (Kiwanis Club), Emerson Ziesmer (Rotary Club) and Faith Pietras (Lions Club).   JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Jake Gimbel, son of Sarah and Brian Gimbel of Shorewood is at graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Grade School.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and National English Honor Society, and is involved with the Medical Science Club, Key Club, Baseball team and Golf team.  He is also a broadcaster on the JCA YouTube page for school football games.  Jake has been a key part of 2 State Baseball Championship teams and has been a Sectional Golf qualifier.   He will be attending Heartland Junior College, where he will be playing baseball and studying prep health.

Emerson Ziesmer, daughter of Nikki and Max Ziesmer of Joliet is a graduate of Troy Middle School.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.  She competes on the Varsity Dance Team, where she is a captain, and is involved with the Key Club and Habitat for Humanity.    Emerson plans to attend the University of Iowa where she will major in Health Promotion or Nutrition.

Faith Pietras, daughter of Nicole and Kevin Pietras of Plainfield is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, where she is the Vice President, National English Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.   Faith is a member of the Student Council, Student Ambassadors, Habitat for Humanity Club, Medical Science Club, and Key Club, and she is a Hill Zone leader and Eucharistic Minister. Outside of school Faith volunteers at Sockers FC Chicago Girls Academy, St Josephs, and ENT Surgical consultants.  Faith plans on attending Radford University and majoring in Biology on the Pre-Med track in college with hopes of being a Physician in Pediatrics or Orthopedics.
