The Catholic Education Foundation in the Joliet Diocese Provides Funding

For Students to Attend Various Area Catholic Schools

The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) in the Diocese of Joliet gave a total of $323,500 for local students to attend area Catholic high and elementary schools

Joliet, IL, February, 2013.  The Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) in the Diocese of Joliet provided a total of $323,500 of tuition assistance for students to attend area Catholic schools.  Specifically, the CEF provided $163,000 in tuition assistance for the students at Joliet Catholic Academy for the 2012-2013 school year.

Additionally, the CEF provides tuition support to students enrolled at the Catholic elementary schools that feed into the student population at Joliet Catholic Academy.   Students at Catholic schools in Joliet, Shorewood, Plainfield, and Lockport received a combined total of $160,500 in financial aid.   This assistance provides financial stability to the elementary feeder schools by ensuring steady enrollment.  In doing so, the funds help to retain current students and recruit new ones.

“The CEF is pleased to support students at Joliet Catholic Academy as well as various elementary schools in the area”, said Joe Langenderfer, Executive Director of the CEF.  “We are forever grateful to our donors who made this possible.”

During FY12 the CEF will distribute $1.6 million of assistance to schools and parishes in the Joliet Diocese.   All students who receive the assistance are given a partial tuition grant providing each family to invest in the education of their children.

“We believe that parents are more engaged in their child’s education if they contribute to it”, said Langenderfer.
