SPANISH STUDENTS COMPETE IN ANNUAL AATSP COMPETITION

On Saturday, November 16th, five of JCA’s Spanish students participated in the American Association of  Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese 31st Annual Poetry and Poster Competition . This year’s competition took place at Niles North High School. Every one of our competing students was a winner. For the poetry portion, seniors Thomas Meyer and Alexis Kwaben competed at the Spanish IV level. Meyer took home a fist place ribbon while Kwaben secured a third place ribbon. For the poster competition, Mimi Ernst, a junior, earned a first place ribbon, with sophomore Jay Waldron earning second place and senior Michael Dow, third.
