JCA Announces October Students of the Month

Congratulations to JCA’s October Students of the Month: Hayden Wagner (Kiwanis Club), Emily Cherwin (Rotary Club), Will Dow (Lions Club), and Audrey Greder (Exchange Club).

Hayden Wagner, Kiwanis Club Student of the Month.

Hayden Wagner, son of Brent and Stephanie Wagner, has been named the Kiwanis Club Student of the Month. Wagner currently holds a 3.97 G.P.A. He is a member of the National Art Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, vice president of the National Honor Society, historian of Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society), a member of the JCA varsity football team, captain of the varsity track and field team, member of student ambassadors, and a daily Pledge of Allegiance reader. Wagner plans to major in Entrepreneurial Studies and is applying to Baylor, Texas Christian, Belmont, and Miami of Ohio.

Emily Cherwin, Rotary Club Student of the Month.

Emily Cherwin, daughter of Craig and Jacqueline Cherwin, has been named the Rotary Club Student of the Month. Cherwin currently holds a 4.14 G.P.A. She is currently the treasurer of Student Council, a member of the Respect Life, Key, and Leo clubs; and a member of student ambassadors. Cherwin has been inducted into the following honor societies during her JCA career: National Honors Society, National Spanish Honors Society, National Art Honors Society. Her favorite subject in school is English because she loves grammar, but she also enjoys literature and learning about different times and events. During her free time, Cherwin works at the Jacob Henry Mansion, babysits, and volunteers with Meals on Wheels. She hopes to attend Marquette, Butler, or Indiana where she plans on majoring in Elementary Education with a Special Education endorsement in hopes of becoming a teacher.

Will Dow, Lions Club Student of the Month.

Will Dow, son of Hon. Judges Robert and Elizabeth Dow, has been named the Lions Club Student of the Month. Dow currently holds a 4.39 G.P.A. and is a member of the JCA Student Council, HillZone, student ambassadors, and Scholastic Bowl. During his tenure at JCA, Dow has received the Highest Grade Award/Certificate of Excellence in the following classes: World Music, A.P. U.S. History, and Theology III. Dow actively volunteers at the Cathedral of St. Raymond’s Parish and Daybreak Shelter. He is also a member of the JCA varsity baseball program, serving dutifully as the team manager. He enjoys watching or playing sports and reading about history. Dow plans on attending Butler, Creighton, or Marquette, where he plans to major in History, Secondary Education, or Law.

Audrey Greder, Exchange Club Student of the Month.

Audrey Greder, daughter of Randall and Carol Anne Greder, has been named the Exchange Club Student of the Month. Greder currently holds a 4.94 G.P.A. and participates in the following extracurricular activities at JCA: student ambassadors, Student Council Executive Board (where she serves as the secretary), Book Club (vice president), Key Club (secretary), Math Team, Scholastic Bowl, Leo Club, Psychology Club, Medical Sciences Club, and Habitat for Humanity Club. Greder is also a member of the JCA girls varsity soccer program. She has earned “A” honor roll every year, and earned the “Highest G.P.A.” award at the conclusion of her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. Greder plans to major in neuroscience and minor in psychology with a pre-medicine track in mind.
