JCA announces January Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the January Students of the Month: Luke Gould (Kiwanis Club), Jason Koenings (Rotary Club) and Ella Passehl (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.
Luke Gould, son of Kelly and Greg Gould of Channahon, is a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Grade School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society). He was a member of the Football team, Key and Leo Clubs, Lil Buddies, Spanish, and Habitat for Humanity Club. Luke maintains a busy schedule holding a job at a local restaurant in Minooka aside from various volunteer efforts. Luke plans to attend Belmont University in Nashville and major in Nursing.
Jason Koenings, son of Staci and Jeffrey Koenings of Bolingbrook, is a graduate of St. Dominic Grade School. Jason is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and is an Illinois State Scholar. He is an AP scholar, a Math Ream State Qualifier, and Heritage Award winner. Aside from his accomplishments in the classroom, Jason is a member of the volleyball team, Student Council President, Student Ambassadors, President of the Human Rights Club, and member of Key Club. Outside of school, Jason is an aquatics supervisor at the Bolingbrook Aquatic Center, and he volunteers at Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. Jason plans to attend either Northwestern or University of Miami and major in Bio-Medical Engineering.
Ella Passehl, daughter of Sheila and Rob Passehl of Crest Hill, is a member of St. Jude Parish. She is a member of the French National Honor Society, and her favorite subject is English. Ella is very interested in Education or Agriculture and is planning on attending Illinois State University. She loves to spend time with her family and volunteers at various places outside of school.
