JCA ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER 2023 STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the November Students of the Month: Tristan Paul (Kiwanis Club), Cassidy Gray (Rotary Club) and Alana Schertz (Lions Club).   JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Tristan Paul, son of David and Kristina Paul of Joliet, is a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle.   Tristan is a member of the National Honor Society, the National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the Key Club, Habit for Humanity, Math Team, and Cross Country Team.  He has won numerous academic medals and certificates ranging from the Math Team invitational at JJC (1st place – 3 gold medals) to awards for the French competition (bronze medal and certificate). Tristan plans to attend a university with a great engineering program (possibly Purdue) and major in aerospace / mechanical engineering or computer science engineering.  Tristan would then hope to work at NASA or Boeing. 

Alana Schertz, daughter of Joe and Aimee Schertz of Joliet, is a graduate of St. Raymond Grade School.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, International Thespian Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.  She is involved with the Drama Club (President), Habitat for Humanity (Secretary), Key Club, Robotics Club (President), Student Newspaper, Peer Mentoring, Student Ambassadors, and is a Eucharistic Minister.   Alana, outside of school, works for the Miracle League of Joliet, Camp Invention, helps at her grade school, St. Ray’s, and works at the Jacob Henry Mansion.  Alana plans to attend either Notre Dame or St. Mary’s College and hopes to major in aerospace or mechanical engineering.  Furthermore, Alana would like to use her degree then to work at Disney animatronics or the NASA rover program. 

Cassidy Gray, daughter of Eric and Kim Gray of New Lenox, is a graduate of Liberty Junior High.   Cassidy is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Art Honor Society (President), National Spanish Honor Society, International Thespian Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.  She is involved with the Pickle Ball Club, Student Newspaper (Co-editor), Student Ambassadors, Drama Club (Vice President), and Big Buddies / Little Buddies.  Cassidy is also a Captain on the Tennis team and works at Jacob Henry Mansion. Cassidy is undecided on the college she wishes to attend but she wants to be involved with Film and Television Production.
