JCA ANNOUNCES DECEMBER 2023 STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the December Students of the Month: Andres Munoz (Kiwanis Club), Jessica Horn (Rotary Club) and Jack Moberg (Lions Club).   JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Andres Munoz, son of Elizabeth Cuevas and Daniel Munoz of Plainfield, is a graduate of Troy Middle School.   Andres is a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta.  He is involved with Big Buddies / Little Buddies, Key Club, Economics Club, Tennis, and was the starting quarterback on the State-Runner-Up Hilltopper Football Team.    Away from school he volunteers at the Northern Illinois Food Bank and Feed My Starving Children and works at the Jacob Henry Mansion.  Andres wants to own his own business or become a firefighter.   His goal in life is to make a difference or have an impact on someone’s life. 

Jessica Horn, daughter of Kris and John Horn of Plainfield, is a graduate of St. Paul the Apostle Grade School.   Jessica is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and English Honor Society, and is an Illinois State Scholar.  She was a 2022 Prep Volleyball Academic All-American and she was on the 2023 Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association All-State Academic Team.  Jessica is involved with Student Ambassadors, Big Buddies / Little Buddies, Key Club, Economics Club, and has been a Captain on the Girls Volleyball team for the past 2 years.    Away from school, Jessica volunteers at St. Paul the Apostle and works at ENT Surgical Consultants.  She will be attending Gardner Webb University, playing volleyball, and double majoring in Criminology and Psychology. 

Jack Moberg, son of Beata and John Moberg of Plainfield, is a graduate of St. Mary Immaculate Grade School.   Jack is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the National French Honor Society.  He is a member of the Scholastic Bowl team, Math team, and Tennis and was a Silver medalist in the National French Contest in 2021.  Away from school Jack volunteers at Habitat for Humanity and St. Mary Immaculate Parish.
