Joliet Catholic Academy President/Principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the January Students of the Month: Kathryn Hammel (Kiwanis Club), Jack Ryan (Rotary Club) and Madisynne Gura (Lions Club).   JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Kathryn Hammel, daughter of Ted and Kristen Hammel of New Lenox, is a graduate of St. Raymond Grade School.  She is an Illinois State Scholar and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.  She was a State Qualifier for Track and Field (3200 M Run) and is involved with Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Track and Field, and is the JCA Women’s History Club President.   Kathryn wants to attend graduate school after college and earn a PHD, where she hopes to become an English professor. 

Jack Ryan, son of Larry and Jill Ryan of Joliet, is a graduate of St. Jude Grade School.  Jack is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and National Math Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta.   He was a member of the 2023 JCA Baseball State Champion team and is involved with Student Ambassadors, Women’s History Club, Economics Club, and Key Club.  Jack plans to attend college and major in Business. 

Madisynne Gura, daughter of Michael and Carly Forneris of Shorewood, is a graduate of Minooka Junior High.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honors Society, National Spanish Honors Society, and Mu Alpha Theta.   Madisynne is a member of the Tennis Team, and she is the President of the American Sign Language Club, a member of Student Ambassadors, and Economics Club.  Madisynne plans to attend either Ball State or Valparaiso University with a Major in Meteorology and Minor in Sign Language.
