JCA announces October Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy president/principal Dr. Jeffrey Budz is pleased to announce the October Students of the Month: Hope Daga (Kiwanis Club), Alvic Araneta (Rotary Club), and Audrey Pender (Lions Club). JCA is proud of the success these students have exhibited both in the classroom and out in the community.

Hope Daga, son of Cyrnes and Adoude Daga, currently has a 3.97 GPA. Daga is a member of National English Honor Society, National French Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society). He plans on majoring in nursing and psychology and is currently undecided on his collegiate choice.

Alvic Araneta, son of Ma.Leah Ochong-Araneta and Alvic Araneta, currently has a 4.58 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Araneta is a member of National English Honor Society, National French Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society), and Tri-M Music Honor Society. He is also a member of Math team, the JCA Drama Club, JCA Band, JCA Engineering Club, Medical Science Club, and the JCA varsity boys volleyball program. He plans on attending Benedictine University to major in biochemistry with future plans to become a physician. 

Audrey Pender, daughter of Bill and Jenni Pender, currently has a 4.61 GPA in JCA Honors and AP classes. Pender is a member of National English Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math National Honor Society). She is also a member of the JCA Key and Leo service clubs, Habitat for Humanity club, and JCA student ambassadors. Pender was a captain of the JCA varsity tennis team and and IHSA state tournament qualifier. She plans on studying nursing in college with a goal to become a physician’s assistant.
